Mr. Richard Kassman is currently the Public Affairs Manager for TotalEnergies E&P PNG Limited and serves as the Senior Vice President for the PNG Chamber of Resources & Energy (PNG CORE). He has an extensive experience over 42 years in insurance, risk management, and public service. He qualified as a Senior Associateship at the ANZ Institute of Insurance & Finance (ANZIIF) and attended various specialist insurance & risk management courses in Australia and London.
He has also established three different start-up insurance companies: Kila Bowring (now Marsh Limited) in 1979, Sedgwick Kassman Limited in 1992, and Inspac (PNG) Limited in 2006. He has held executive and board positions with Bowring, Marsh, Sedgwick, and Aon.
Mr. Kassman was the former CEO of the PNG Tourism Authority and has served as a director for several commercial government entities, including the inaugural board of the Independent Public Business Corporation (IPBC), Air Niugini Limited, the National Airline Commission, PNG Tourism Promotion Authority, and Papua New Guinea Waterboard (Water PNG).
He has been involved with various industry and professional bodies, including the PNG Insurance Council, Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce, PNG Institute of Directors (former vice president), and the Insurance Institute of PNG. He has also served as the Chairman of the International Education Agency & Port Moresby International School, St. John Ambulance Board, Transparency International PNG Inc (founding Director), and Digicel Foundation Inc.
In recognition of his distinguished service and dedication to nation building in PNG, Her Majesty bestowed Richard an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in 2009.
